    Bedside Beauty

Bedtime - my favourite time of the day. There's nothing more I love than my sleep (she says typing away at 00:02am when the alarms set for 8). Here's a few of my products that I like to keep close to me before my head hits the pillow.

Candles are an absolute essential for me. Candles can make a room look so much more relaxed which is why I love burning them around an hourish before I go to sleep (or all day long). I recently purchased these gorgeous candles from a small Irish company called So Soy and I've been non stop burning them. My favourite for the daytime is Prosecco, Pomelo and Grapefruit which is so fresh! and for the evening I love Black Coffee, Jasmine and Vanilla which has a much richer fragrance! Also can we talk about how chic they look!

I absolutely love Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate! However, as daft as this may sound, and I think it might be all in my head! I find that this product works better if I apply it a few minutes before I go to sleep rather than when I do my full evening cleansing routine a few hours before I go to sleep. This is a product that definitely has me waking up with fresher skin.

If you've been reading my posts recently you'll notice I've been trying out a lot of Decleor products lately! One of the first products I purchased was the Intense Nutrition Luxuriant Nourishing Lip Balm (try saying that when you've had a few wines). I love this product as it's more of a lip mask in my opinion than a balm? It's so thick and rich that I only tend to wear it overnight to restore my lips overnight ready for the liquid lipsticks of the next day!

What a miracle product this is! This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray was actually something I bought only because it was in the sale and I liked the packaging. I didn't believe this would work at all but I thought I'd give it a go. I can confirm this does work, I'm pretty good at getting to sleep I don't really struggle to switch off but working late nights means that getting home at times when I would usually be asleep and therefore I'm wide awake. So a few sprays of this on my pillows just sends me drifting off!

Another Decleor product! I've been loving these essential oil based products! This miniature of the Soft Satin Dry Oil is something I've been really loving recently! All you need is a few drops, as you can see from how little I've used and I've been applying it to dry areas such as elbows, knees etc. As a fake tan addict, I'm going for more golden glow than orange elbows and knees, this product really helps to keep them well moisturised and ready for tan!

Those are my favourite bedside beauty products! What are yours? Let me know in the comments! See you soon!

    Two Winter Skin Saviours

Happy Monday my loves! Is anyone else's skin having a post-Christmas breakdown? Mine certainly is, I can't wait for my skin to be back to normal again! My skin is usually normal to oily but in the winter it needs an extra boost of hydration when it can begin to feel tighter.

Recently I've been trying and testing new skincare products, I love using my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ as my morning moisturiser - it keeps my skin clear and works wonderfully underneath makeup! However, in the evening I need something a little more hydrating.

At work I've been keeping my eye on the Decleor Merry Oils Christmas Set, waiting for it to go down to half price in the sale. In the set there was a full sized micellar oil, full sized Neroli night balm, full sized Neroli oil serum, a small sized soft satin oil and a small sized body exfoliator. The whole set was priced at £89.90 but it was worth around £120 (if I remember rightly, I can't find how much it was worth!) but I purchased it half price in the sale for £45 (House Of Fraser). What a bargain!

I've been trying the products out for just over a week and a half now and I've got two favourites from the set which have really been helping my skin by giving it a boost of hydration.

Decleor offer a range of skincare based on different essential oils suitable for each skin type and condition. The Aromessence Oil Serum is one of my favourite products. All you need is a few drops of this and it feels and smells like a spa on your skin. This is the perfect product for applying to your skin at night so the oil can work it's magic whilst you sleep - I've been waking up with glowing skin! You can also mix a few drops of this into your moisturiser for a hydrating mask!

This is another one of my favourite products from the set. If my skin is feeling super dry and tight this is such a saviour because it's so rich. This is a thick balm which you only need a small amount of. I take a small amount and rub it between my fingers to warm the product and then apply to my skin at night. This also contains the Neroli essential oil. I wouldn't recommend using this with the oil serum though - oil overload.

Have you tried any Decleor products? How are you coping with winter skin? Let me know your skin saviours in the comments below. See you soon!

    The Very Best of Duochrome

"The Very Best of Duochrome" - My first blog post title that sounds like the name of a CD you'll buy your dad for Christmas. Anyway! Let's talk eyeshadows, more specifically, duochrome eyeshadows.

When it comes to duochromes - I consider myself a connoisseur. I love doing a simple super blended transition and adding a duochrome on the lid. It's such an easy eye look but looks as though you spent some time creating it.

So obviously I can't not share my favourite duochrome products with you. I'm letting out all my secrets to you, so we can all feel fabulous!

This is hella pretty. Topshop did so well making these products - they are amaze! This one is a pink that reflects gold. It looks amazing paired with warm brown transition shades!

My heart loves this shade. Any duochrome product with like a blue/green reflect is what my mind sways toward. Changeling is a lightbrown which reflects a light blue/teal shade. You can see a look I did using this shade by clicking here.

A brown that reflects a khaki green, hmmm I wonder why I love this one! This is beautiful, I don't have any other shades from the dual intensity range but this one was the one I liked the look of the most.

A very much loved and popular pigment from MAC. A beautiful warm gold with pink reflects. Perfect for any peachy makeup look.

Blue Brown? Classic Capel Colour. This pigment is also well loved by many - and rightly so! This is stunning. It's the perfect product to use if you're introducing colour into your makeup routine!

Winner winner chicken dinner. This badboy is one of the best of the best. It's a stunning warm brown with reflects of a light blue, almost lavender pigment. Click here for a look I did using this product!

I think this was my first duochrome eyeshadow. This is what made me fall in love. Crème Brulee transition, whack this on the lid, winged eyeliner and you're good to go! Again it's a brown/green shade.

From top to bottom (Makeup Geek - Havoc, Urban Decay - Solstice, NARS - Pasiphae, Topshop - Changeling, Topshop - Shuffle The Cards, MAC - Melon and MAC - Blue Brown.)

Those are my all time favourite duochrome eyeshadows. What are yours? Are there any particular posts that you would like to see in 2017? Let me know in the comments! I love to know what you think! See you soon!

The Highlighter That No-One Told You About

Happy Monday my loves! and Happy New Year! I'm kicking off my first post of 2017 by letting you in on an absolute gem of a product I have discovered, and I am obsessed with!

In case you didn't know, I'm highlighter crazy. The brighter the glow, the more I love it. Which is why I'm baffled as to why I didn't try this product as a highlighter sooner. But I'm glad I did.

I've been working for Laura Mercier Cosmetics since September and I've discovered so many amazing products whilst working there. The Laura Mercier Loose Mineral Illuminating Powder in shade Starlight is one of them. It was only by chance one day that I swatched a bit of product on the back of my hand at work and then something clicked in my mind - this would be an amazing highlighter!

So of course I put it to the test and got my highlight on. I fell in love and had to buy it that day. I've been using it everyday since. It's a beautiful champagne gold and it is absolutely beaming when applied to the highest points of your face.

The Illuminating Powder retails at £26 and also comes in the shade Candlelight also which is more pink-toned. There is 9.6g of product which is more than most pressed highlighters - I can see this lasting me a while.

I've been applying it using the Morphe M509 brush which is my current favourite brush for highlight.

I'm so glad I made this discovery and I can't believe I didn't make it sooner. Will you be picking up this product? Let me know what highlighters you are currently obsessed with in the comments! See you soon!

What I Got For Christmas 2016

Hello my lovelies! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! and if you don't celebrate Christmas - I hope you had an amazing day! I had such an amazing day being around my loved ones and eating a hell of a lot of food and drinking a hell of a lot of wine.

It's time for all the "What I Got For Christmas" posts and I'm certainly jumping on the band wagon. I love having a snoop at what each of us got as gifts, it's just a bit of fun! We all deserve treats now and then for all our hard work and these are things we have had our eyes on for a while so why not share it!

    Makeup
In terms of makeup I was absolutely spoilt! There are so many things that I received which I have wanted for such a long time.

I love the original strobe cream from MAC so much so when I saw the Goldlite one released I've been dying to try it and I love it! My boyfriend accidentally ordered two so I have enough to last me while!

I looooove this concealer! My shade is actually Ginger which I do have already but I wanted Custard for those days when I want a highlight as well as conceal. I used this for my makeup on Christmas Day and I loved it!

If you know me or you follow me on Instagram you will know that these are quite possibly my favourite lashes of all time. That is all.

I am OBSESSED with duochrome eyeshadows. Truly in love. I've been using them so much recently on my Instagram posts and when I swatched this in Selfridges in October you all know I fell in love, and rightly so! Scroll to the bottom of this post for the swatch and you'll see why!

Another duochrome eyeshadow - what a shock. This is absolutely STUNNING as soon as I opened this I took it straight out of the packaging for a quick swatch.

This was actually my secret santa gift from work and when I opened it I was gobsmacked as we'd set the budget to £10 so it was incredibly heart warming and I was so so grateful.

I've been loving bright colours on my eyes recently - especially a pop of colour in my waterline so this is a perfect gift for me.

    Beauty
Oh boy oh boy. Theres so much hype about this product and I'm so glad because I was sucked into the hype and I don't regret it! This is the freshest product I've ever smelt. You spray it and your instanrtly relaxed by the scent alone. I've been using this before my moisturiser and also at the end of my makeup to diffuse all the powders.

Volume is a struggle between me and my hair. My hair is very thick, so naturally I do have a lot of volume but because it's so long and heavy the volume is sacrificed. I'm so excited to try this range to see how it gets on with my hair!

This set is for dry and damaged hair and it's moisturising for the help of recovery. I absolutely love it. I used them both yesterday when I washed my hair and I can definitely tell a difference. My hair looks so much smoother!

    Victoria's Secret Scandalous Gift Set
I've never tried any of the Victoria's Secret fragrances until now but I love this fragrance mist. I think this will be a spray that I just throw in my handbag and use through out the day rather than taking my glass bottles out with me and running the risk of smashing them (this would happen to me - trust me).

    Perfume
I received two of my favourite fragrances this year! Victor&Rolf Flowerbomb EDP and Lancôme La Vie est Belle EDP. When I worked in fragrance for 3 years before moving to Laura Mercier these were the two fragrances I used to wear all the time. I find that they both last so well on my skin.

Last but certainly not least is dare I say it, my favourite gift. I received, from my amazing boyfriend, a Christian Louboutin lipstick (squeal!). Mine is in the shade Just Nothing which is a perfect matte brown nude shade, a perfect match for my favourite MAC lipliner, Stripdown. I actually stared at it for a good five minutes before applying it on Christmas Day because it was so pretty. The formula of this lipstick is AMAZING. There was no lipstick transfer onto my wine glass! and after having six courses of food, it looked barely touched. I've never been so impressed with a lipstick, I've been blown away by this beautiful gift.

Swatches from bottom to top (NARS Dual Intensity - Pasiphae, Urban Decay - Solstice, MAC Melon Pigment, MAC Goldlite Strobe Cream, Christian Louboutin - Just Nothing and LA Girl - Aquatic.)

That concludes what I got for Christmas this year! I hope you enjoyed having a little look into my gifts and I'll forever be grateful for the beautiful gifts I received this year. I've enjoyed Christmas so much and I'm grateful that I had a few days off work to enjoy spending time with my loved ones - that was the best gift of all. My next post will probably be in the new year so we can catch up then! See you soon!
